** Delmar Saxton 1908-1979 **

"Delmar Saxton is one of Omaha's finest players, a man whose
aggressive style is perfectly suited for either side of any gambit.
Accordingly, when I faced him in a 3-board blindfold exhibition
following a simultaneous display on October 20, 1940, I snatched
at the opportunity to play a Wing Gambit. Strangely, Saxton, like
so many other experts, lost himself in the glories of his own attack
and permitted a mate which is an echo of the one in the last game.
Underrating?"
