** Furr Trophy to Magee Again **

Lee Magee retained the Archie Furr trophy, symbolic of the
Omaha-Lincoln intercity chmpionship by scoring four victories over
Lincolnites, A. Liepnieks, P. Wood, V. Pupols, and J. Warner. Pupols had
a very nice game against him with several missed "winning lines", while
Liepnieks with a superior game suffered from acute time clock trouble and
blundered badly. Liepnieks was second with 2-2, losing to Pupols and
Magee, while J. Warner equealed his score by beating Wood and Pupols.
Victor Pupols failed in most of the games but scored a nice victory over
his jinx - Liepnieks!
The tournament was started last fall but did not finish until early
in April. No other Omahan entered the contest. Last year four Lincolnites
and four Omahans played for the crown. One more victory by Magee is
necessary to retain permanent possession for the trophy. A selection of
