SIXTH ANNUAL UNK CHESS CLASSIC
AND
SCHOLASTIC TEAM CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
FEBRUARY 2, 2008 IN THE UNK STUDENT UNION
Event: The tournament will be played in four sections: Elementary School,
Middle School, High School, and Open. The scholastic sections will
be four round Swiss System events with all games determined in one
hour and fifty minutes or less. Each contestant will have 45 minutes
per game. In addition, entries from three person scholastic teams will
be accepted. Scholastic teams must be composed of three individuals
from a single school (elementary school, middle school, or high school).
The scholastic sections will be unrated events, and therefore
membership in the USCF and the NSCA will not be required.
The Open Section will be a USCF rated NSCA POY event. Entrants
in the Open Section must be members of the United States Chess
Federation and of the Nebraska State Chess Association. Memberships
in the USCF and the NSCA will be available at the tournament site. The
Open Section will be either a three round Swiss System event or a four
Round Swiss System event, determined by the number of entries. The
three round format will be played G/75, G/75, and G/90, and the four
round format will played G/60 for all four games.
