Tournament is open to anyone, including Lincoln residents but not restricted
to Lincoln residents. Trophy for top winner in each Quad and Prizes for
all players.
Round-Robin Rounds: 3
rounds, Round-Robin. We will try to put players in Quad groups of 4 players
of relatively equal ratings. Unrated players will form separate groups. USCF
Members will not be in groups with non-members. We will then play a Round-Robin
within each group. A Trophy will be given to the player with the best score
is each group of 4 players. All players receive a prize. (Tie Break System To
Be Announced.)
Time Control: Time
control will be Game/60. All Quads will start at 9:30 a.m. Quads that
finish a round early will start the next round as quickly as possible. 3
rounds at Game/60 should finish around 4:00 p.m., including a half hour lunch
break. Quads that finish their games quickly will be able to be done before
4:00 p.m. (Players rated under 1000 could easily be done by 1:00 p.m.)
(Concessions will be on sale for lunch.)
Adjusting Quads: If there
are not an even number of people to make all groups Quads of 4 players each,
it may be necessary to put 5 or 6 persons in some groups. We may have to go
to a Swiss System if necessary in some groups, but our goal is to have everyone
in a Round-Robin group. If more than 3 rounds are needed for a larger group,
the time control will be shortened. (Some chess sets will be provided on site.
Bringing your own set is recommended. Bring your own chess clock if you have
one.)
