The NSCA Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls Chess Tournament Qualifier will be held April 9th, 2005 at the Lancaster County Extension Education Center, 444 Cherrycreek Road, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

This is a K-12 tournament and there will only be one section including all participants. The tournament is restricted to girls only. They must be a Nebraska resident. The highest grade they must be enrolled in is 12th. They must be under the age of 19 as of 9/1/05. Rounds will be 9:30am, 11:30am, 2:00pm, and 4:00pm. The time controls will be Game/60. In event of low participation, a Round Robin format may be used, or the number of rounds may be reduced. Participants are highly encouraged to use a chess clock. In unable to do so, a chess clock may be provided at the site.

 

The winner of this tournament will be declared the NSCA State Girls Chess Champion for 2005. She will then be nominated to play in the Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls chess tournament at the U.S. Open in Phoenix, Arizona August 6-11, 2005. The winner of the national tournament will be eligible to receive a full, four-year scholarship to the University of Texas at Dallas. The qualifier will be a rated tournament. USCF and NSCA membership are required.

The pre-registration cost is $5.00. On site registration will be available from 8:30am to 9:00am on April 9th. The cost of on site registration is $7.00. Please cut out and mail in the registration form below.
