"Team Score" will be the total of the scores of the top four chessplayers from a school in a section. To be eligible for a team trophy, a school team must have a minimum of two players in a section.

Team eligibility requirements: Team participants must currently be enrolled in and attending the school they represent. The tournament director reserves the right to confirm a student's enrollment and/or to have the student and/or parents sign a statement confirming enrollment. Homeschoolers may form teams, or they may participate in a school team if they have written verification from the school principal that they are a member of that school's team or club. Membership in a school club does not make a person eligible to represent that school if the person is enrolled elsewhere. Refer eligibility questions to the tournament director.

To be considered a homeschooled student, the student must have received a Rule 12 or Rule 13 acknowledgement letter from the State Dept. of Education.

Team members may be paired per the "Plus-two method" outlined in the 5th edition of the U.S. Chess Federation's Official Rules of Chess. For more information, contact the tournament director.

Players, please bring your own chess set and your chess clock (if you have one).
