2004 Great Plains Open Chess Tournament

Where: Fort Street Christian Church. 99th & Fort, Omaha, NE. Just East of the I-680 Fort St Exit.

Format: 3 Sections: Open, Reserve(U1600) and Junior (U19). Open and Reserve: 4-SS G/75. Rnds 9-1-3:30-6. Junior section: 5-SS G/45. Round 1 starts at 10. Primary division will be added if 4 or more entries. Sections may be combined if low number of entries in any. Open section is a Nebraska Player of the Year event. (POY)

Entry Fees: $20 by 6/8; $25 later. USCF and NSCA membership required. Available on site. Registration on site 8-9:50.

Qualifier for the 2005 State Closed Championship.

The top Nebraskan will qualify for next year’s state championship.

Prizes

Open: 100-50-25, 1st Class B, C, & D/E/UNR 25 each. 1st Upset $25. (Based on 20 entries)

Reserve(U1600): Trophies to 1st, 2nd, and 1st U1400.

Junior (Under age 19.): Trophies to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. Other class trophies b/entries.

Misc.: Half point byes available all rounds. Must commit before round 1. Cell phones on vibrate or off during tournament games. No smoking inside of church. No computer entries accepted.
